Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Forest Grove, she feels it is truly a blessing to be able to practice in the community she grew up in.

As a dedicated and compassionate midwife, Desi is committed to providing exceptional care to expectant mothers and their families. With a wealth of experience and a deep passion for maternal and infant health, Desi has been a trusted partner in the birthing journey of countless families.

Credentials and Expertise:

Desi is a certified and licensed midwife in the state of Oregon. She began attending births in 2007 as a doula, in 2011 as a student midwife, and started Moon Sisters Midwifery in 2017.  Desi stays up-to-date with midwifery skills through regular training and continuing education, as well as working with a variety of other midwives, ensuring that she provides the highest standard of care to every client.

Philosophy of Care:

Desi's approach to midwifery is grounded in a deep respect for the natural processes of pregnancy and childbirth. She believes that every family is unique and should be treated with individualized care. She works closely with expectant mothers and their families to create a personalized birth plan that aligns with their preferences and values.

Services Offered:

• Prenatal Care: comprehensive prenatal care, including regular check-ups, education, and support to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

• Childbirth Support: continuous care and guidance during labor and birth, focusing on the comfort and well-being of the mother and baby. Currently births are attended by Desi and another local midwife as an assist. 

• Postpartum Care: postpartum care to assist new mothers in their recovery and adjustment to motherhood.

• Family-Centered Approach: emphasizing involving the entire family in the birthing process, as well as fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.
